Looking for a Great Camera Deal This Holiday Season? David Koonar Provides Advice

The holiday season often provides a lot of opportunities to pick up electronics on the cheap. Photographer David Koonar has some tips for those looking for a camera.

Tis’ the season for sales. Come the Holiday season, you can often find great electronics on sale at a reasonable price. If you need a new computer, TV, camera, or whatever else, you should keep an eye out. Photographer David Koonar provides some tips for finding a great camera this year.

“First, it’s important to understand that supply chains have been disrupted in 2021,” David Koonar says. “You can still find great deals, but you may want to act quickly before stock runs out. That said, when it comes to buying a camera, quality is vital.”

What does quality mean when it comes to cameras? Compared to years past, great cameras are both more affordable and higher in quality. Pick the right smartphone, and you may find that you have a great camera for casual photos.

“Don’t underestimate smartphone cameras these days,” David Koonar notes. “A new iPhone or Google Pixel phone can offer a great deal, including a good camera for casual photos and an awesome phone experience. Come Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you may be able to score deals on great phones with excellent cameras.”

Still, some photographers want to go beyond camera phones. If you’re considering photography as a hobby, you should consider an entry-level DSLR camera.

“The Nikon D3500 is a solid camera that offers a great interactive tutorial mode that can teach you a lot of the photography basics,” David Koonar suggests. “If you want something pocketable, consider the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV. Keep an eye out and you may find them on sale this year.”

There are plenty of other great cameras out there as well. If you have small kids interested in photography, consider the Nikon Coolpix, which is affordable and waterproof. The Kidizoom Duo 5.0 is even cheaper. Watch Amazon and other websites for sales.

At the other end, the Nikon D850 and Canon EOS R5 are favored among some professional photographers. These cameras, however, cost thousands of dollars. So how do you get good deals? David Koonar has suggestions.

David Koonar Offers Tips For Finding Good Deals

So how do you get the best prices on cameras this holiday season? First, keep the global chip shortage in mind. Supplies may be restrained this year, so if you find a good deal, it’s smart to act quickly. So where can you find a good deal?

“You should keep an eye on sales ads and websites, of course. Good deals will come and go quickly,” David Koonar says. “Sometimes, you can set up email alerts to watch for sales for specific goods.”

Another smart option, according to David Koonar, is to check out brand outlet stores:

“Sometimes, you can find refurbished cameras and accessories directly from brands,” David Koonar says. “You can save a lot of money. Also, look at Amazon Renewed and other websites that sell used goods while offering a warranty.”
